I’m so pleased with this food vacuum sealer. Our other food sealer broke but I hated that thing (obviously a different brand). It was bulky, loud, and difficult to use. This nutrichef pkvs18 is slim, sleek, and easy to use. No more multiple times just trying to get a bag to seal. I have no basis for comparison, but I received my vacuum sealer today and am more than impressed. I had a bunch of venison slim Jim’s and jerky to seal and freeze and used up all the included bags and rolled plastic. The process is easy and fast, and it is very obvious if the seal hadn’t formed. You need to give the sealer 40 seconds in between seals, which isn’t an issue considering you have to load the bags. I wanted a sealer primarily for cooking sous vide, and I didn’t want to spend a ton or waste a ton of space on a giant one. This little guy is great. It reminds me of the size of the shredder part of a paper shredder. Easy to carry up from the basement storage and easy to set up. I’m not sure why anyone would pay any more for a sealer than this? This does everything I need it to do.

This is my first vacuum sealer so, since I don’t have any other previous experience with other brands and models, I could be a bit biased. First of all, the product arrived in a very well-protected package so there was no damage to it. Once I took it out of the box, I was anxious to try it so I had a few pieces of bacon (old style) that I wanted to seal for summer and this machine worked like a charm, there is no learning curve with it, its literal plug and play product. when you use it the right way (fit the bag into the vacuum very well, not sloppy) it will vacuum and seal in under 30 seconds. Only when you don’t fit the bag properly or you put the digital control pad on top can you get a bag that doesn’t vacuum properly.
It comes with 5 bags and a roll of bags for custom-length items you need to save.
